An electrical circuit is made possible by a connector, which links electrical terminals. Cables, wires, printed circuit boards, and electronic components can all communicate with each other through connectors.

Industrial connections of every kind are created and manufactured by TE Connectivity to reliably transmit data, power, and signal even in the harshest conditions.

All industrial connector types, including wire connectors and PCB connectors, are produced to minimize the size and power consumption of applications.

Read on, the various types of industrial electrical connectors will be explained in this article.

Four Types Of Industrial Electrical Connectors

There are currently more than four different types of industrial electrical connector connection forms in use. These four types of industrial electrical plugs.

1. Threaded connection

For contacts with bigger diameters and the military electrical connector, which operate in high-vibration situations, certain types of connectors are frequently employed.

To avoid loosening when the connection is complete, this kind of connection can be fitted with a fuse. Despite being dependable, the connection is slow.

2. Bayonet connection

This method of connection and separation is dependable and quick. Most electrical connectors that have a card 121 connection feature a small hole on the side of the connection nut that allows you to see whether the electrical connector is properly connected and locked.

3. In-line connector

This type of connection is flexible. The movement direction is often a reciprocating linear action, without twisting or spinning, and just a limited working area is needed to accomplish the connecting and disconnecting of the plug and military socket of the electrical connector.

Spherical or pin designs are common for plug-in connectors. When the connection form is put wrongly, the mechanical resistance increases dramatically and can be detected quickly because there is no mechanical labor-saving feature in the connection form.

4. Electrical connector cabinet connection

Some gadgets employ this electrical connector, which necessitates a blind connection close to the frame. Electrical equipment may become lighter, more compact, more reliable, and easier to maintain.

The operator cannot feel the connection with this kind of connection. To prevent forcibly joining the incorrectly inserted micro electrical connectors together and to prevent incorrect insertion, an exact positioning device must be designed. To ensure adequate connection, cabinet-type electrical connectors are typically constructed with floating or robust contacts.

Disadvantages of Wire Connectors

The disadvantages are as follows:

1. Reasons for accidents at joints

A fire started by a short circuit, heat, or electric spark is the accident's primary cause. It should be highlighted that the insulation layer is torn off, resulting in direct contact with the two wires, which leads to an accident.

This circumstance typically occurs at the point of connection, such as the place where one wire connects to another, the point where one wire connects to a switch, the point where one wire connects to an electric carrier's terminal or the point where one wire connects to a shelter.

2. Excessive contact resistance that causes overheating

When the contact area of a connection is smaller than the conductor area during a physical process, the connector is more likely to overheat, which will cause the nearby combustibles to burn and result in a fire accident.

First, the placement quality is inadequate; second, the connector has been opened for a long time and is loose; third, the conductor connection is oxidized; these are the causes of the connector's excessive contact resistance. The fourth is dust pollution.
